  • [es-pree de less-ka/-iay] (idiom) A witty remark that occurs to you too late, literally on the way down the stairs. The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations defines esprit de l'escalier as, "An untranslatable phrase, the meaning of which is that one only thinks on one's way downstairs of the smart retort one might have made in the drawing room."

Oh, so SO Fing cute. I wish I could be there to chase him around. I think it's safe to say that nobody is more excited about spring than M. Le Chat.

I am currently in Albuquerque where it is 78 and sunny. I actually got a little pink on my nose. As Frank can attest, sunny and pink-nosed is a good state.

Both of those books look excellent. So does Frank.

Claire? Is it my freakin' computer or your blog, but your entire right column has disappeared...

hope you have a fantastic break.

thanks for the kind comments on my big drawing ! :)

Have a great time. Can't hardly wait to see your pics.
